Another myth tells how the supreme god Zeus instructed to defend the island of Crete "iron giant" named Talos. His, of course, also made Hephaestus. Talos was metal, with a horned head and had one single blood artery that passes through his body from head to toe, where it is plugged nail. The Iron Giant went around the island to drive away other people's ships, throwing the 'stones' and loudly shouting the laws of King Minos of Crete. When one heads to land on Crete enemies began Talos 'burning red light', and which killed a hitter. Nevertheless, the witch Medea managed to outwit his 'false visions' and pull the nail out of the arteries. The black oily blood flowed, and Talos lost its force. Since that time, Crete was left defenseless.
